Mitchell M. Gerber

Mitchell Gerber is President and managing partner of MSG Consulting, Inc. He has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. As an out-sourced risk manager, he provides his clients with strategies to help navigate the latest insurance market and risk management initiatives, as well as contractual requirements and best-practices across all areas of property casualty insurance and managing risk. Mr. Gerber has also implemented alternative risk transfer vehicles such as captive insurance companies when traditional insurance was either unavailable, impractical or cost prohibitive.

His areas of expertise include residential and commercial real estate, retail, manufacturing, construction, wholesale distribution as well as mergers and acquisitions due diligence, where he presently heads the M&A practice for MSG Consulting. Many of our clients are self insured or have large deductible insurance programs. Contractual risk transfer is an important area of focus for our practice.  Mitchell’s clients operate both domestically and internationally and are involved in a diverse range of industries.

Mr. Gerber is recognized worldwide as an expert in commercial property and casualty insurance and frequently provides expert testimony on complex insurance matters.

Stephen Gerber

Mr. Gerber has over 25 years of extensive worldwide experience in all areas of Risk Management. In 1991, Stephen and his brother Mitchell, noted above, founded MSG Consulting Inc. Prior to founding MSG Consulting, Mr. Gerber had joined UIC Inc. at its inception in 1987 where he also became a Managing Director.

Mr. Gerber’s clients are located both domestically and internationally. His areas of expertise include Real Estate, Retail, Importing, and Construction operations. Mr. Gerber is recognized as an expert in the risk management field and has lectured on various insurance related topics. In addition, he has served as an expert witness for insurance cases on many occasions.

Mr. Gerber began his career at The Equitable Insurance Group where he gained extensive experience in underwriting and sales. He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Oswego with a B.S. Degree in Economics.

Craig Barnet

Craig Barnet is experienced in the risk management of large scale construction projects and complex organizations. He has a superior, 23-year record of proven results in minimizing his clients’ risks and maximizing their insurance policy terms and conditions of coverage.  

Mr. Barnet’s clients span a wide range of industries and are located both domestically and abroad. Client industries include Private Equity Firms, Real Estate, Construction, Retail, Healthcare, Manufacturing and Hospitality,  He provides expert assistance on all facets of risk management and has advised on over $5 Billion of new construction values to developers around the country. He is recognized as an expert by the NY State Bar Association, teaches continuing education classes to attorneys, and has been published in the New York Law journal.  

He began his career at BAI, an insurance brokerage firm in the Northeast, where he started in commercial sales and ultimately rose to the position of Vice President of Commercial Lines.  

He is a graduate from the University of Delaware with a B.S. Degree in Business Administration. He holds a Certified Insurance Counselor Designation from the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research.

Boris Strogach

Boris Strogach is a senior consultant and legal counsel to MSG Consulting, Inc. He joined the firm with 10 years of insurance and risk management experience, focused primarily as an advocate on behalf of insureds in a multitude of areas. As an out-sourced risk manager to private equity firms, real estate owners, operators, developers, manufacturers and construction companies, he provides his clients with innovative strategies around the latest insurance market and risk management initiatives, contractual requirements and best-practices and a proactive stance on claims management practices advocating for equitable resolution to his clients. His knowledge and experience in the nuances of insurance product design and applies their impact to a company’s exposure and bottom line across many industries such as Construction, Real Estate, Healthcare, Manufacturing and Financial Services. Mr. Strogach has also explored and implemented alternative risk transfer vehicles such as captive insurance companies when traditional insurance was either unavailable, impractical or cost prohibitive.

Mr. Strogach began his career at Aon Risk Services, a global insurance brokerage, in their Mergers and Acquisitions Group (AMAG). With AMAG , his focus was to advise financial and strategic buyers on insurance and risk management issues related to their acquisition of a target company. This involved custom tailored solutions to facilitate complex transactions. After his growth in the brokerage world, he transitioned to a premier global consulting firm where he utilized his insurance expertise and legal knowledge to help international corporations and leading private equity firms implement best practices in insurance program design, coverage terms and conditions and insurance vendor selection and management.

Mr. Strogach holds his juris doctor from Hofstra University School of Law and a B.A. degree in Economics from Binghamton University. He is admitted to practice law in the states of New York and New Jersey, both on the state and federal level. Additionally, he is certified as a Construction Insurance Risk Specialist and has a designation as an Associate in Risk Management.
